Step 8– Install the Remodeling (Old Work) Electrical Box Remove the knockout from the remodeling box. Two types are shown a Hubbell EZ101 (common in Canada) and a RACO 512. The “remodeling” box or “old work” box is used for easy installation because it does not require a stud to be present at the location where it is installed. Instead it has clamps which anchor on the drywall.
Insert the End of the cable into the electrical box as you insert the box into the cut out in the wall (both models shown).
Tighten the screws on the remodeling box that lock it into the hole in the wall and connect the ground wire to the terminal provided.
