Measure and cut a length of Romex cable which will run between the two electrical boxes.

 

Using the utility knife strip a length of about 6” of the outer sheath from both ends of the of the Romex cable then using the wire strippers, strip ¾” of the insulation from the black and white copper wires on both ends of the cable.
