These instructions call for an electrical box to be installed behind the mirror, which is a requirement for compliance with the US National Electrical code. These instructions are not suitable if you intend to permanently attach (glue) the mirror to the wall thus rendering the electrical box inaccessible. Electrical safety regulations are typically a matter of local jurisdiction, which may or may or may not require compliance with the US National Electrical code. The regulations in your country, state, province or even city may differ. If you have questions about the regulations in your area, you will need to consult a local authority or electrician.

In the installation described the electrical box for the mirror defogger is inter-connected with the electrical box for the light fixture above the sink or vanity so that both the light and the defogger are controlled by the wall switch.

If you are installing several large mirror defoggers on the same circuit, insure that the rating of the wall switch is not exceeded. Typically this is not an issue.
